Mentmore And Morley

Sydney, Australia

Mentmore & Morley Café -The stylish and welcoming interior makeover invites discerning clientele seeking coffee and cakes, or full breakfasts and lunches.

Situated on the corner of Mentmore and Morley avenues, this bright café is a standout in the up and coming Sydney suburb of Rosebery.  Refurbished in partnership with co-owner celebrity chef Phillip Davenport, the new outlook at Mentmore & Morley is another feather in the cap of Mahallati Interiors. Mahallati is known for their ability to make proprietors and designers concepts into reality Mentmore & Morley is no exception. All the loose furniture for both the indoor and outdoor dining areas as well as other fittings and equipment was custom designed and signed off on by Phillip personally before being produced at Mahallati’s own production facilities.

The style is chic and clean and trendy at the same time. The feeling that is evoked by the uncluttered décor is of cleanness and cleanliness which is just what is necessary at an eatery. Timber and steel feature heavily in the furniture selection as can be seen in the outdoor sections slatted top Teak tables with their powder coated steel hairpin legs. The frameless design of the tabletops exhibits modern sensibility. Teak round topped stools are the accompanying seating and taller barstool versions of these adorn the breakfast bar. Powder coated hairpin legs on the stools in both black and white incorporate them into the décor package. The feature tables indoors are the slab items made from Suar wood, with strong powder coated steel legs. These tables are thick chunky slices of the Suar tree with the natural edges and natural colours of the sapwood and heartwood left as mother nature intended.

Tough polyurethane lacquer provides commercial grade protection to the slab’s surfaces. The presence and character of these tables is impressive due to their massive size and they are a wonderful place to gather and eat together with friends and family. Steel framed chairs with wooden seats and backs are the comfortable accompaniment and they contrast nicely with their black finish. The timber for the chairs is known as Mindi – stained black and coated with polyurethane lacquer, while powder coating protects the steel.

As with all the projects that they are partners in, Mahallati Interiors consulted extensively with the owners and designers with technical advice on product design and was heavily involved in the project management of the entire enterprise.

Highly qualified through knowledge and experience to be associated with endeavours of any scope and size, Mahallati Interiors are perfectly positioned to help anyone realise their commercial hopes and dreams.

Chic, modern, clean and inviting – these are the impressions and feelings aroused on entering the Mentmore and Morley Café, and in a city of cafés like Sydney where competition is fierce, this establishment is among those at the top of the pyramid. Mahallati Interiors are proud to be partners in the undertaking.
